Project for the Retroconversion of Finding Aids
A retroconversion project supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the scope of its funding area “Scientific Library Services and Information Systems (LIS)/Cultural Heritage” is currently being launched at the Archives of the Max Planck Society. During retroconversion, finding aids, which have hitherto been available only in paper form (finding aids, loose sheets, file cards), are digitally recorded according to special archival criteria and can be searched online in this way. The project comprises 182 finding aids with some 20,000 registered units.
